Barcelona Complete Permanent Signing of Egyptian Wonderkid Hamza Abdelkarim

Spanish giants Barcelona have completed the permanent signing of highly rated Egyptian youngster Hamza Abdelkarim after deciding to activate the purchase clause in his agreement with Al Ahly.

The teenage forward initially joined the Catalan club on loan during the January transfer window and quickly impressed coaches with his performances at youth level.

Playing for Barcelona’s Juvenil A side, Abdelkarim showcased his attacking qualities and eye for goal, earning recognition as one of the club’s most promising young talents.

His impact was immediate, scoring six goals in 11 appearances and helping strengthen the team’s attacking options during the second half of the campaign.

Those displays convinced Barcelona’s hierarchy that the youngster was worth a long-term investment, leading to the completion of a permanent transfer.

The club has handed Abdelkarim a contract that will keep him at Barcelona until 2029, underlining their confidence in his potential.

While the Spanish side has not officially disclosed the financial details of the deal, reports in Spain indicate that the transfer is worth around €1.5 million, with additional performance-related bonuses included.

Abdelkarim’s rise has not been limited to club football. The 18-year-old is currently representing Egypt at the FIFA World Cup 2026 and has already featured in matches against Belgium and New Zealand.

His involvement on the international stage further highlights his growing reputation within African football.

Barcelona will now hope the young striker continues his development and eventually makes the leap to the senior team.

For Egypt, his progress is equally encouraging, as the country looks to nurture a new generation of talent capable of competing at the highest level of world football.
