Asaba To Host 2026 President Federation Cup Final

The 2026 President Federation Cup final will take place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, with both the men’s and women’s title matches set to headline Nigerian football’s premier domestic cup competition.

The men’s final will feature a compelling clash between three-time champions El-Kanemi Warriors and Lagos-based side Ikorodu City, who have enjoyed a remarkable run to reach the showpiece match.

The final is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, and is expected to draw significant attention given the contrasting histories of both clubs.

Ikorodu City secured their place in the final after a tense semi-final encounter against Nasarawa United, which ended 1-1 in regulation time before they triumphed 4-2 on penalties.

The victory marked another painful exit for Nasarawa United, who have now suffered multiple heartbreaks in recent editions of the competition.

El-Kanemi Warriors, on the other hand, booked their spot in convincing fashion with a 3-1 win over Wikki Tourists in Katsina.

The Maiduguri-based side produced a disciplined performance to extend their impressive cup pedigree, having previously lifted the trophy in 1991, 1992 and 2024.

The club’s captain, Zayyad Musa, credited the passionate support from fans in Katsina for motivating the team to victory.

In the women’s category, the competition is also reaching its decisive stages, with quarter-final fixtures producing intense battles across different venues.

Traditional powerhouses Rivers Angels will face FC Robo Queens, while Sunshine Queens take on Confluence Queens. Elsewhere, Heartland Queens are set to meet Ibom Angels, and Edo Queens will battle Nasarawa Amazons in what is expected to be one of the standout fixtures.

The Stephen Keshi Stadium, which has hosted several major football events in Nigeria, will once again serve as the backdrop for the grand finale.

Organisers expect a vibrant atmosphere as teams compete for one of the most prestigious domestic trophies in Nigerian football.

With underdogs Ikorodu City facing experienced campaigners El-Kanemi Warriors, the men’s final promises an intriguing contest between ambition and pedigree, while the women’s semi-final stage continues to build momentum toward a highly anticipated conclusion.
