Brazil Crush Haiti 3-0 as Cunha Brace Fires Selecão to Top of Group C

Brazil secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Haiti in their Group C clash at the FIFA World Cup 2026, a result that pushed the five-time champions to the top of the standings on goal difference and officially ended Haiti’s tournament hopes.

The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute after Vinícius Júnior tested the goalkeeper with a powerful strike that was spilled inside the box.

Matheus Cunha reacted quickest to slot home from close range. The Manchester United forward struck again in the 36th minute, finishing clinically after being played through by Vinícius Júnior following a turnover in midfield.

Just before halftime, Vinícius Júnior added his own name to the scoresheet. He controlled a pass from Lucas Paquetá and calmly finished past the Haitian goalkeeper in stoppage time to give Brazil a comfortable cushion going into the break.

In the second half, Brazil controlled possession and managed the tempo, while still creating chances. Gabriel Martinelli came close with a long-range effort that hit the crossbar, and Endrick had a goal ruled out for offside.

Haiti worked hard but struggled to break through Brazil’s defence and were kept out by Alisson whenever they threatened.

Vinícius Júnior was named Player of the Match for his influence in attack, registering a goal and an assist as Brazil maintained their strong form.

The result sets up a decisive final group game against Scotland, while Haiti exit the competition without a point.
