Crystal Palace Appoint Pierre Sage As New Manager

Premier League club Crystal Palace have confirmed the appointment of French coach Pierre Sage as their new manager following the departure of Oliver Glasner.

The 47-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the South London side after an impressive spell in charge of French club Lens.

Palace moved quickly to secure his services as they prepare for another important campaign, which includes participation in the UEFA Europa League.

Sage arrives at Selhurst Park with his reputation significantly enhanced after guiding Lens to an outstanding season in France.

Under his leadership, the club secured a second-place finish in Ligue 1 and qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

He also helped Lens claim the French Cup, ending a long wait for major silverware and earning widespread praise for his work.

His achievements were recognised when he was named Ligue 1 Manager of the Year, making him one of the most sought-after coaches in European football.

Speaking after his appointment, Sage expressed his excitement about joining Crystal Palace and praised the progress the club has made in recent years. He acknowledged the work done by his predecessor and said he is eager to build on that success.

The Frenchman stressed that he is arriving with ambition and a desire to maintain the winning mentality that has developed at the club. He believes Palace have the foundations needed to continue competing at a high level both domestically and in Europe.

Club chairman Steve Parish welcomed the appointment, describing Sage as a coach with a proven track record of success.

He expressed confidence that the Frenchman can continue the club’s upward trajectory and help Palace achieve more memorable moments.

With European football on the horizon and expectations growing among supporters, all eyes will be on Sage as he begins a new chapter in English football.
