Nigerian Midfielder Ademo Joins Real Zaragoza on Long-Term Deal

Nigerian midfielder Peter Ademo has completed a move to Spanish side Real Zaragoza from Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol, marking a major step forward in his professional career.

The 23-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the former La Liga outfit, bringing an end to his spell in Eastern Europe where he gradually developed into an important squad player.

Ademo began his senior career in 2022 with Lithuanian club Dainava, where he quickly adapted to European football.

His breakthrough came in his second season after he recorded one goal and two assists in 19 league appearances, a performance that helped raise his profile across the continent.

His progress earned him a transfer to Moldovan giants Sheriff Tiraspol in 2023. However, his early period at the club was challenging, as he struggled for regular playing time.

This led to a loan move to Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest, where he gained more experience and match exposure.

Upon returning to Sheriff Tiraspol ahead of the 2024/25 season, Ademo enjoyed a more productive campaign.

He became a key figure in midfield, contributing four goals and three assists in 40 appearances across all competitions, a performance that reportedly attracted interest from several clubs in Europe.

Real Zaragoza confirmed the signing in an official statement, noting that the Nigerian midfielder joined the club pending a medical examination.

The Spanish side described him as a player in his football maturity, expected to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new season.

The club also expressed optimism that Ademo will integrate quickly into the squad and contribute to their long-term objectives as they push for success in the Spanish second division.

For Ademo, the move represents an important opportunity to test himself in one of Europe’s competitive leagues and continue his development on a bigger stage.

With the transfer now completed, expectations will be high as he begins a new chapter in Spain with Real Zaragoza.
