Galatasaray Set to Part Ways With Mauro Icardi
Galatasaray forward Mauro Icardi is reportedly set to leave the Turkish Super Lig champions this summer, according to football commentator Ertem Şener.
Şener made the claim while analysing the club’s transfer plans on his YouTube channel, suggesting that the Argentine striker will no longer be part of Galatasaray’s squad heading into the new season.
According to him, discussions with members of the club’s management indicate a mutual decision to part ways with the experienced forward.
“From my conversation with the Galatasaray management today, I understand that they are parting ways with Icardi,” Şener said.
He further hinted that tensions within the team may have contributed to the decision, noting that Icardi is believed to have developed some level of dissatisfaction with the coaching setup.
Şener also claimed that the striker’s attitude in recent times has not been ideal for the dressing room environment, adding that the club believes his exit would be in the best interest of all parties involved.
“Icardi is displaying a somewhat disruptive attitude within the team. His departure is best for Galatasaray,” he added.
Icardi, who joined Galatasaray with high expectations, saw his role change following the arrival of Victor Osimhen from Napoli, which pushed him out of the first-choice striker position.
The situation has fuelled further speculation about his future, with reports suggesting the club is already planning for life without him ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Galatasaray are now expected to reshape their attacking options as they continue preparations for the new season, while Icardi’s next destination remains unclear.
