Brighton’s Youth Project Convinced Me – Yohanna
Nigerian youngster Yohanna Zadok has revealed the key reason behind his decision to join Brighton & Hove Albion, despite attracting interest from several other Premier League clubs.
The talented winger recently completed a move from Swedish side AIK Stockholm to Brighton after impressing with his performances in Sweden.
His displays caught the attention of scouts across Europe, with a number of English clubs reportedly monitoring his progress.
Speaking after sealing the transfer, the 18-year-old said Brighton's track record of developing young footballers convinced him that the club was the best place to continue his career.
According to him, the Seagulls have consistently provided opportunities for emerging talents to grow and establish themselves at the highest level.
Zadok explained that he regularly follows Premier League matches and has long admired Brighton's commitment to youth development. He believes the club's environment will help him improve and reach his full potential.
The youngster also spoke about the emotional challenge of leaving AIK Stockholm, where he enjoyed strong support from teammates, coaches, and fans. He described his time in Sweden as an important stage in his football journey.
Another factor that influenced his decision was a conversation with Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler. Zadok said the coach encouraged him to remain focused, work hard, and continue fighting for success.
