Etebo Refuses To Rule Out Stoke Exit

Super Eagles Midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo has revealed it would be difficult to reject a permanent switch from Stoke to Getafe this summer.

Etebo stated that the prospect of European football next season with Getafe would be difficult to turn down, if the Spanish club decide to activate a clause in his contract.

Etebo said "Since I arrived here (Getafe), it has been fun and I love the challenge here"

"I don’t mind staying here permanently. We are in a good position and also closer to playing in Europe next season if all go according to plan."

"I had a chance to join Getafe last summer but the Sports Director at Stoke wanted me to stay at the club for another season. However, after the Africa Cup of Nations, I wasn’t playing and it was difficult to accept that at that time."

"So when Getafe renewed interest, I insisted that I wanted to leave and my wish was granted."

The 24-year old Nigerian midfielder moved to Stoke just before the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia before joining the Spanish side this year.

Etebo has featured six times for Getafe who are currently fifth in La Liga with 46 points from 27 games, one point adrift the Champions League spot and Etebo’s loan deal at Getafe has an option of an outright buy.
