Minister, UBEC Commend Gov. Obi, Communities Too
Huhuonline.com can report that the Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Inuwa Abdul-Kadir has commended Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State for his contributions towards actualization of President Goodluck Jonathan's Transformation Agenda.
The Minister, who also praised the Governor for constructing access road to the National Youth Development Centre, located at Mgbakwu, Awka North Local Government Area, noted that the access road would facilitate the commissioning and commencement of activities in the centre.
Abdul Kadir, in a statement made available to Huhuonline.com, however explained that the Youth Centre was established to give the unemployed youths in Anamrba State the opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge for self-employment by shunning restiveness.
In a similar development, the Universal Basic Education Commission, Abuja extolled Governor Obi's commitment in the implementation of the Universal Basic Education Programme to enhance qualitative education delivery in the State.
The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Ahmed Modibbo Mohammed said the commission would sustain its partnership with Obi's administration and other critical stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the programme to promote access and equity in basic education delivery.
Meanwhile, the Awka Etiti community in Idemili South Local Government Area had also in a statement signed by the President General, Mr. Linus Okafor and the Secretary, Mr. Peter Ifedi respectively, expressed gratitude to Governor Obi for giving the people a sense of belonging by being responsive to their calling on the death of four children of Obiukwu family killed in bomb blast by the Boko Haram sect.
The community further lauded the Governor for appointing one of its illustrious sons, Chief Joe-Martins Uzodike as Commissioner for Information Culture and Tourism, and assuring him of their unflinching support.
