PLEASE HELP! BOOKSNG.COM/DEBONAIR Bookshop is duping Nigerian Students
Our attention has been drawn to by some of our customers whom we have faithfully served since 2005 about malicious comments posted about our organization on a website called 'PointBlank News'.
These malicious comments were posted in April 2010 and one of our representatives immediately put up a rejoinder in the 'comments' section of the aforementioned online article with the expectation that anyone who reads the article and sees our response will understand the facts of the case.
However, we recently observed that Pointblank News has removed all responses to this malicious article leaving a one sided and biased article.
We would like to state the following for the record:
1. 1. The author of this article was a former customer of our organization;
2. 2. This former customer requested for specific books with a value less than $100;
3. 3. The book was out of print from the publisher and we were advised that a reprint
would be ready within a 4-6 week timeframe; 4. 4. The former customer was advised of this revision;
5. 5. At the end of the advised timeframe, the publisher had still not reprinted the book
and we duly informed the customer we would be unable to provide the book. We
duly refunded the customer the entire sum paid to our organization.
6. 6. We are a duly registered Nigerian company and maintain a great reputation
7. 7. We have served over 100,000 customers since beginning operations in 2005
8. 8. At no time have we purported to be affiliated to the University of Liverpool
9. 9. We have never duped anyone and we will never do so;
10. 10. We changed our website name from Booksng.com to Debonairbookstore.com to
reflect our brand name and also because our operations have expanded outside Nigeria.
We should state that we run a logistics intensive organization. Whilst we admit that we are not perfect and sometimes drop the ball, when things go wrong, we raise our hands and try very hard to get things right. As a forerunner and innovator, we are focused on continuous learning.
We are proud to be Nigeria's first online bookstore, Nigeria's first fully integrated online retail outfit; the first African content provider to launch it's own tabletPC (Bamboo Tablet PC); and are proud of the various local and international awards we have won for innovation and service excellence. We also host over 50 events a year in our store on 294 Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba Lagos.
How anyone can allege that we are out to dupe people is beyond comprehension. Attempts to run us down with such false and malicious smear campaigns will surely fail and we will grow from strength to strength.
In conclusion, our sincere thanks go to our customers as we assure them of excellent services always.
