President Jonathan To Attend Global Nuclear Security Summit

SAN FRANCISCO, MARCH 24, (THEWILL) - President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will leave Abuja Saturday evening for Seoul as the head of Nigeria’s delegation to the World Nuclear Security Summit, billed to kick off in the South Korean capital on Monday, March 26, 2012.

President Jonathan and about 52 other Heads of State and international organisations are expected to participate in the summit, which will discuss global cooperative measures to combat the threat of nuclear terrorism. The protection of nuclear materials and related facilities as well as the prevention of illicit trafficking in nuclear materials are also on the agenda of the summit.

He is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with other world leaders and meet with representatives of the Nigerian Community in South Korea on the sidelines of the summit. He will return to Abuja on Wednesday, March 28th, 2012.
