RACE FOR EKITI PDP CHAIR INTENSIFIES

ADO EKITI- No fewer than eight chieftains of Ekiti State  Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] are vying  for the state chairmanship position,  as the party is said to have zoned the post to the North Senatorial District.

Those  who have shown interest in  the post are; Dr Jimi Oke, a  medical doctor and  one time member of the House of Representatives, who  hails from Oye Ekiti; Mr. David Oke, currently the vice chairman of the party in the state, who is from Ilupeju Ekiti;  Isola Filani, a lawyer and  pioneer member of the party, who is currently a national ex-officio member of the  party. He hails from Ikole Ekiti.

Others include, Dr Makanjuola Ogundipe,  one of the leaders of the party in the state, who is from Ijesha Isu Ekiti; Dr Ayo Olaiya, who had shown interest in the governorship position of the party in the past.

He is one of the respected elders of the party in the state, and hails from Ayedun Ekiti; Hon Sola Ajigbolamu , a one time speaker of the state House of Assembly, a lawyer, and currently a legal adviser to the party in the state from Ikole Ekiti; Mr Gboyega Oguntuase, a lawyer and one time commissioner in the state, from Ikole Ekiti and Olu Omole, also a lawyer and former member of the state House of Assembly, from Oye Ekiti
