Samson Siasia Fired As Super Eagles Coach
Samson Siasia, coach of the Nigerian senior national soccer team, the Super Eagles has been fired. Mr. Siasia`s term of office was to lead the team to the semi-final of the African Nations Cup. However, Siasia failed to qualify the team for the competition,
scheduled for 2012.
Nigeria Football Federation( NFF) Exco on Friday in Abuja voted to approve the decision of its Technical Committee, which had recommended that the coach be fired as prescribed in his contract.
His is expected to be replaced with Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, a former skipper of green eagles, who helped Togo qualify for the 2006 world cup.
