GROUP CONDOLES CLARK OVER DEATH OF HIS DAUGHTER

 
Environmental advocacy groups and human right activists in the Niger Delta region has condole the Ijaw National Leader, Chief Edwin Clark over the death on his daughter, Mrs. Henrieta Clark-Oshowole, regretting that her loss is a setback for the Ijaw nation in its new struggle for human and infrastructural development of the region.

The environmental advocacy groups and scores of human right activists, under the aegis of the Niger Delta Development Monitoring and Corporate Watch (NIDDEMCOW), said though death is an inevitable occurrence in every human life, the loss of Mrs. Clark Oshowole is a painful one to the Ijaw ethnic nationality as her experience is highly needed to support the doggedness of her father for the region.

In a statement issued in Yenagoa and signed by the Executive Director of the group, Chief Nengi James, said though her death is a painful one, Ijaw leaders and youths should rally round the Ijaw Leader as he mobilizes the region towards greater development.

The statement stated that 'we want to express our heart felt shock and pain towards the loss. It is not only a loss to the E.K Clark family but to the entire region with particular reference to the Ijaw Ethnic race. The death of Herienta became worrisome to us because it came at a time her wealth of experience was highly needed to encourage her father and the Ijaw nation to continue the struggle against injustice and under development in the region.

'We believe that her death, though painful, will propel the people of the region and the Ijaw Leader, Chief E.K.Clark to be more purposeful and remain focus in carrying out the God given assignment of building the Niger Delta region and the nation at large.'
