OWERRI GETS LION'S SHARE AS OKOROCHA SWEARS-IN COMMISSIONERS, TODAY

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State will today swear-in 15 commissioners to man the various ministries in the state. Reports stated that the Owerri zone will have the largest slots of six ministries followed by five allotted to Orlu and four to Okigwe zones respectively.

A highly placed government source confided in Daily Sun authoritatively that the governor and his team had looked at the ministries critically and decided to evenly allocate them to the three senatorial zones of the state.

According to the source, Owerri zone has the Works, Petroleum\Natural Resources, Women Affairs, Education, Health and Information\Justice ministries allotted to it. Orlu zone got Special Duties, Local Government Affairs, Culture\Tourism\Chieftaincy Affairs, Land, Survey\Urban Planning and Youths and Sports ministries.

The source also said that the Okigwe zone got the Finance, Agriculture, Housing\Transport\Public Utilities and Commerce and Industry. The commissioners designate who had earlier been cleared by the state House of Assembly would be sworn-in today by Governor Okorocha who would also announce their various ministries.
