STOP RESORTING TO FALSEHOOD TO WOO NIGERIANS, JONATHAN TELLS ATIKU

By Kingsley Omonobi
ABUJA—Ahead of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential primaries on Thursday, the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation has decried the continuous complaints and unsubstantiated accusations of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, against both the party leadership and person of President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to the campaign organisation, Nigerians cannot be hoodwinked by falsehood.

A statement by Mr. Sully Abu, Director of Media and Publicity of Jonathan campaign organisation, said the attitude of Atiku and his men was one obviously instigated as a result of glaring signs of defeat that stared Atiku in the face.

The statement read: 'As they stare defeat in the face in the impending presidential primaries of the PDP, the Atiku campaign is increasingly resorting to desperate measures and deliberate falsehood to foul the atmosphere and prepare the ground for them to dispute the inevitable outcome.

'In the past days, they have resorted to copious advertising in the media of a document which they falsely claim was authored by the Director of Strategy of our campaign organisation, Chief Mike Omeri.

'The unsigned and undated document which they attributed to Chief Omeri is obviously a rigged document by the known past masters in rigging.

'The same Chief Omeri is the object of other false accusation - that he was seen at PDP headquarters tampering with party documents.

'This statement is so obviously false that it defies reason to understand the motive for its concoction. Officials of PDP whose secretariat Chief Omeri visited have not come to make any such accusation.

'In any case, Chief Omeri as a member of the party and a ranking member of our campaign organisation is perfectly entitled to visit the party secretariat without eliciting the kind of wild allegations that have emanated from the Atiku camp.'
