FORGET WINNING POLLS IN S'WEST, TINUBU TELLS PDP

FORMER governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is only dreaming about winning elections in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states, adding that Nigerians are tired of a 'poverty party'.

Speaking with reporters at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Tinubu said even if the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) preparation for the elections begins two days to the election, it will win in all the wards and states in the South West, noting that the ACN has become the party of the masses.

'Let them continue to delude themselves, I am not bothered, they will not win Lagos even if we have a test run and we didn't campaign. We didn't nominate anybody within two days to the elections, that is a fact. If PDP will take Namadi Sambo to Ado-Ekiti for a House of Assembly election, if all their stalwarts will descend on Igbogbo in Ikorodu, just forget the illusion.

'When Adeseye Ogunlewe was a Commissioner and Olorunfunmi Bashorun was the chairman of the state in that constituency, they never won any election, so good luck to their dreams. You can't stop them from dreaming, but they will wake up to the reality that Lagos is untouchable for PDP, and they will lose Ogun and Oyo states, write it down,' he said.

On allegations of imposition of candidate, Tinubu said the ideals and ideas of ACN would speak for itself, adding that, 'anybody that would be filed in the party will win elections anywhere.

'You have your feelers, after failures, everybody will say all sorts of excuses, after passing, every principal is a success, so the internal affair of our party is our affair, people will still give excuses. What do you call imposition, what do you call primaries, what do you call internal democracy, we depend on the constitution of the party and that is what leadership must provide. If we have done what we should do, we will win, but if they won't and people are finding excuses, I am not ready to discuss that, we're getting ready to get power from PDP, it is a party of falsehood and poverty.'
