NEW FORMULATION FOR MANAGEMENT OF PEPTIC ULCER INTRODUCED

A new antacid formulation fortified with an anti-deflatulent for management of peptic ulcer, heart burns including heart burn in pregnancy, dyspepsia, gastrointestinal flatulence and discomfort due to excess stomach gas, among other conditions has been launched into the Nigerian market.

Presenting the drug to a gathering of Pharmacists in Lagos under the aegis of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) Lagos state branch, Mrs. Pat Iloba, Business Development Manager, Avro Pharma Ltd said Avrocid Suspension is a special formulation which acts by neutralizing Hydrochloric acid; it also help in situation of indigestion, stomach gas and heart burn which are commonly associated with lifeclass.

Mrs. Iloba said the drug which comes in pleasant pineapple flavour and can be used by children from age six and every adult, brings faster and sustained antacid effect with reduced adverse stomach effect. Apart from the pineapple flavour which makes it a delight to patients, she said actives in Avrocid are 'micronised and presented as a uniform suspension to enhance their efficacy.'

The drug which was unveiled by the top echelon of the pharmacy profession in Nigeria at a continuous education programme organised for Community Pharmacists in Lagos comes in a beautiful pack of 200mls bottle with tamper proof cap to ensure safety of product.
