A Tribute to Clara, an Amazon

The Editor:
It was with deep shock and heavy heart after hearing of the untimely demise of Mrs. Clara Oshiomhole wife of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state after a protracted illness. I joined million of Nigerians to commiserate with our Governor Adams Oshiomhole in this moment of grieve.

A solid pillar behind her husband during the Labour activism days and the period of struggle to reclaim his freely-given mandate from usurpers. She was the founder of the Health Foundation for Maternal and Child Care, a pet project which is aimed at providing quality healthcare for pregnant women and the girl-child. She was a virtuous woman, a supportive wife, an exemplary mother, a role model and a visionary leader. Evidently, her purposeful life touched and inspired humanity through her pet project as she will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Oshiomhole, nee Akharagbon, 54, passed on at 10:53pm yesterday at the Abuja Clinic, Maitama.

My Dear Comrade Governor, do accept my sympathy in this time of grieve and I pray that God Almighty grants the entire family, friends and the good people of Edo state the fortitude to bear this irreparable lost. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Adieu Clara…
