ECampaign office of the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation in Ekiti
State will be ready for use next week, the State Coordinator, Rt. Hon.
Femi Akinyemi has said.
Akinyemi, who was speaking during a meeting held with members of the
organisation's Central Working Committee (CWC) and Local Government
Coordinators in Ado-Ekiti yesterday said the State Governor, Engr.
Segun Oni rendered tremendous assistance in getting a benefitting
situation office for the organisation.
“Today, I am happy to inform you all that our campaign office, which
is situated next to the PDP secretariat in Ado-Ekiti will be ready for
use next week. It is going to be opened with pump and pageantry.
“A lot of fund has been expended in making the building befitting and
we must thank Governor Segun Oni for his personal support and
commitment to the Goodluck/Sambo Presidential ambition.
“Let me also tell you all that Ekiti State is being looked up to by
other States in the Southwest as a State with 100 percent support for
the president and we must not disappoint.
“We must all work assiduously for the emergence of the Goodluck
Jonathan/Sambo candidature in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
primaries as well as their eventual election as the President and Vice
president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the next general
election,” he said.
While expressing his happiness that the South-west has come together
again to form a relationship that will be unbroken because of the
Goodluck/Sambo presidential aspiration, ,Akinyemi said leaders of the
PDP in the southwest have an agenda for the south-west and would work
toward not losing any state during the 2011 general elections.
Giving assurance that the Yoruba nation would not be short-changed by
the Goodluck/Sambo Presidency, Akinyemi said; “For the articulation of
the south-west interests, a committee to embark on an expedition has
been set up with Otunba Solomon Oladunni as Chairman of that and Mrs.
Ayoka Lawani as the Secretary.
“The committee, which has Chief Kunle Ogunlade (Ekiti), Hon. Mike
Akinfenwa (Oyo), Dr. (Mrs.) Ayo Badejo (Osun), Chief Kolapo Ogunjobi
(Ogun) and Senator Kofo Bucknor-Akerele (Lagos) as members, has been
saddled with the responsibility of fashioning out a comprehensive
agenda for the southwest.”
