FAYEMI HAS STARTED IN CONFUSION – ONI’S AIDE

Ekiti State former Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation,

Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun has lamented the confusion brought into the

State by the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, saying; “For

rescinding two major decisions less than 24 hours, he has shown that

his government will be that of confusion.”
Olatunbosun, who was reacting to the emergence of Fayemi as governor

for the first time said in a statement made available to journalists

today that; “matching Engr. Segun Oni's achievements is going to be a

very herculean task for Fayemi because in the last three years, Ekiti

State was ruled by a man, who never thought about doing anything for

himself but concentrated his efforts on the development of the State.”

His words; “We have watched with keen interest happenings in our dear

State, Ekiti since the judiciary decided to punctuate the wheel of

development in the State and handed Ekiti fortune over to the Lagos

invaders.
“Since Friday, Ekiti appears to have been placed under siege and this

has been made manifest by the heavy presence of armed policemen in the

State capital. In Ado-Ekiti today, the number of riot policemen are

far above the residents of the town and this can only happen in a

state where those in power are not sure of the support of the people.

“Also, in the last 48 hours, two major decisions made by Governor

Fayemi have been reversed. On Saturday, immediately after his swearing

in, he pronounced that all permanent secretaries appointed between

2008 and October 15, 2010 should revert to their former positions and

that he was going to probe the immediate past administration.

“But less than 24 hours after he said this, he reversed himself,

suggesting that he acted in error.
“Even though we are aware that the decision to reverse the permanent

secretaries appointments and bring back those that had retired, which

is aimed at bringing back one of the retired permanent secretaries,

who is to be made Head of Service is still going to be revisited, we

are convinced that these policy somersault within 24 hours has shown

the state of unpreparedness of the present government to face the task

of governance and we wish to urge Ekiti people to be vigilant.

“The State civil service should also be mindful of the plot to foist

a retired permanent secretary on them by the state government all in

the name of dishing out political patronage.”
Speaking further, Olatunbosun, who described the Appeal Court judgment

as a dangerous precedence in electoral contest in the country noted

that; “With that kind of judgment, the court has told us that all that

is needed to win an election through the judiciary is for a loser to

destroy electoral materials by whatever means, including setting INEC

office ablaze.
“However, we on this side are proud of Engr. Segun Oni and all that he

deed for Ekiti State. We will continue to stand by him because he has

been able to redefine governance in Ekiti and it will sure take a lot

of efforts from Fayemi and his Lagos invaders to match this.”
