New Military Postings Normal – DHQ

ABUJA, OCT 30, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s Military authorities Friday said the recent postings of some senior military officers to Defence Headquarters (DHQ) were to fill up some vacant positions while some were posted out at the end of their tour of duty in DHQ. Director of Defence Information, Colonel M.M. Yerima in a statement said the postings were a normal military routine which is done from time to time when the need arises and in some cases to prevent military personnel from overstaying in a particular location. He said the major highlights of the deployment included the posting of Air Vice Marshal T-Dick Iruenabere as the Chief of Policy and Planning; Major General MA Yerima, Chief of Training and Operations; Rear Admiral BA Raji, Chief of Administration; Major General ED Atiegoba, Chief of Logistics; Major General SU Abdulkadir, Chief of Research and Development; and Major General S Maina as Director of Policy. Others include Major General OL Abidoye, Director of Procurement; Major General AT Umaru, Director of Administration; Rear Admiral IO Oladasu, Director Equipment Standardisation & Harmonisation; and Brigadier General OM Sho-Silva, Director of Sports. All postings took immediate effect and the senior officers have since assumed duty in their various branches and departments.
