Restitution And Territorial Enforcement Tempo Rises In Ogoniland

As the Ogoni Central Indigenous Authority Announces Nationwide Celebration of the 14th Anniversary of the Ogoni Government leaders the government rallying the people to take their proper history.

Putting Restitution and Territorial Enforcement as the central theme of the 14th Anniversary of the Ogoni Self-Government Declaration that was made on August 2, 2012; Governor Sorbarisere Loveday, Head of Administration, says the celebration this year has been decentralized.

Miss Loveday intimated all Village Administrators, District Council Chairpersons, Provincial Governors, Ogoni Traditional Rulers Council leaders, members of the Ogoni National Legislative Assembly (ONLA), Ogoni District Central Assembly (ODCA) representatives, the Ogoni Civil Society Commission (OCSC), affiliate bodies, and all community stakeholders to rally fully for the historic event.

Two-Day National Program Saturday, August 1 – Community Mobilization Day

All communities across Ogoni land will engage in general sanitation exercise to symbolize renewal and unity. Town criers and community announcers will move through all settlements to invite residents to participate in the anniversary ceremonies.

Sunday, August 2 – Ceremonial Day The second day will feature a special parade by the Ogoni Public Security Service (OPSS), cultural displays, traditional dances, music, and heritage exhibitions. Solidarity speeches will be delivered by leaders at all levels, reinforcing the Ogoni vision for unity, self-governance, and territorial protection.

A major highlight of the day will be the President’s Anniversary Address by Dr. Goodluck Diigbo, President of OCIA. The speech will be delivered at all administrative levels, with Organizing Committee Chairs reading the address in villages and districts, while Governors or Deputy Governors will deliver it at provincial headquarters.

Documentation and Coordination OCIA has mandated that all events be videotaped and photographed. Each administrative unit must submit a complete electronic list of its Organizing Committee members, along with all media documentation, to the OCIA Central Office immediately after the event.

Nationwide coordination of the anniversary has been entrusted to The Right Hon. Beabubari Ndorbu, Leader of the Ogoni National Legislative Assembly (ONLA). All units are required to comply with ONLA directives and maintain open communication throughout the preparation and ceremonial periods.

A Call to Unity Governor Loveday emphasized that the anniversary is not merely ceremonial but a reaffirmation of Distinct Ogoni Nation identity, sovereignty, and collective purpose

“Let us demonstrate once again that the Ogoni Nation stands firm, organized, and resolute,” Governor Loveday stated.
