Nwifuru Embarks On Aggressive Development Of Rural Areas; Commends Ikwo East Coordinator.

will drive sustainable socio-economic development across the area
Addressing the mammoth crowd who trooped out during his accountability tour at Ikwo East Development Centre headquarters, Idembia, Nwifuru noted that the Coordinator has stepped down the People's charter of needs mantra of his administration to the grassroot..
The governor who was represented by the Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, Chief Stephen Uchenna Igwe said he with his team has embarked on the tour to assess how the funds so far released to the DC were effectively and judiciously utilized, noting that government has always frowned at any kind of misappropriation.
He also said that the state government believes in people oriented governance and government of inclusiveness, hence the need to assertain the level of relationship between the coordinator and party stakeholders in the Development Centre.
Nwifuru further stressed the need for the coordinator to carry the Management Committee members along in the running of the development center, adding that governance is a collective responsibility.
He called on the people of the area to continue to support and believe in his administration to enable him also continue the delivery of his People's charter of needs to the people especially the rural dwellers, noting that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Earlie, the Coordinator, Ikwo East Development center, Apostle Emmanuel Mbam said he was inspired to work for his people by the way Governor Nwifuru has transformed the various sectors of the state through the implementation of his People's charter of needs mantra.
Mbam informed the governor that the insinuations that Development Centres are scamb and conduit pipe for siphoning public fund is not true, stressing that DCs remain the only way to develop the grassroot.
He enumerated some of the projects executed by his administration to include, roofing of the dilapidated structure of the development center, construction of mega bridge at Onyikwa village in Ndufu Alike community, grading of roads from Elegu Enyim Chukwu village to Elegu Ohankwu Health center, drilling of motorized solar powered borehole at Ndieguazu Ohankwu.
Others are solar powered motorized borehole with overhead tank at Ebianji Noyo,, FUNAI Back gate and another solar powered motorized borehole sited at ,Echialike primary school, construction of culvert at Edukwu Obiovu at Enyibichri community, road construction at Ndieguazu Enyibichiri, dredging of Ohatekwe community water dam for irrigation purposes.
The projects also include donation of generator, computer set, printer and photocopying machine to Noyo Divisional Police division, distribution of eight numbers of motorcycle to Management Committee members and donation of a set of school band to Community secondary school, idembia among other numerous projects.
In his goodwill message, the Chief of staff to the former governor, Chief Goddy Mbam commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for the commitment of his administration towards the development of the rural communities and urged him not to rest on his oars.
Also, the Special Adviser to the former governor on Science and Technology, Chief Celestine Nwele called for more funds to be released to Development Centres to give social amenities to the rural dwellers thereby bringing to an end rural urban migration.
