JUST IN: Fake Council DG, Adeniyi Adeyemi Arrested After Court Order

The embattled director-general of controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, has reportedly been arrested in Osun State.

His arrest comes moments after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a warrant for his arrest following his absence from arraignment.

On Tuesday, Justice Umar issued the arrest warrant on Tuesday following an oral application by the prosecution.

The judge rejected Adeyemi’s lawyer excuse, who said his client was absent from court because he feared for his life and that he had written a letter to President Bola Tinubu regarding it.

He added that Adeyemi intended to stay alive to face his trial.

However, Justice Umar responded by telling the lawyer that the court would “help him to be alive.”

The judge consequently set 30 September as the new date for defendant’s arraignment.

Details about his arrest were still sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
