Gombe Assembly Collapse: One Construction Worker Confirmed Dead, 7 Injured, Workers Trapped

A worker was killed and seven others were injured on Friday when a section of the Gombe State House of Assembly complex, currently under construction, collapsed and trapped laborers beneath the debris before emergency teams successfully rescued the victims.

The Head of Operations of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Gombe Operations Office, Ummanah Ahmed, confirmed the incident.

He said three of the injured were taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Gombe, while five others were evacuated to the Gombe State Specialist Hospital for treatment.

An official confirmed that several victims suffered critical injuries. Attempts to contact the project’s construction company for comment were unsuccessful, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the collapse.
