#Ekiti 2026: INEC Uploads 83% Of Results On IReV As APC Wins Major Polling Units
The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded 2,048 results out of 2,445 polling units on its Result Viewing Portal (IReV) as of 6:41pm on Saturday.
This represents 83.7 percent of total results from the Ekiti State governorship election.
It was reported earlier that fourteen candidates are contesting the off-cycle governorship election, with incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) seeking a second term before his first-term mandate expires in October.
His principal challengers include Oluwole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party, Oluwadare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress, Oyebanji Olajuyin of the Labour Party, and Blessing Abegunde of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
Other contenders are Samuel Akande (AAC), Ayodeji Ojo (ADP), Opeyemi Felegan (Accord), Joseph Anifowose (APM), Bidemi Awogbemi (APP), Olaniyi Ayodele (PRP) and Victor Adetunji (ZLP).
Results are still being transmitted to the portal as collation continues across the state.
Meanwhile, the APC won the polling unit of its governorship candidate and incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji, in Saturday’s Ekiti State governorship election.
Results announced at Polling Unit 003, Ward 06, Okelele, Ikogosi Ekiti, showed that the APC secured 326 votes.
The African Democratic Congress polled two votes, while the Action Democratic Party and African Action Congress recorded one vote each.
The result is as follows: APC – 326 ADC – 2 ADP – 1 AAC – 1 Void votes – 3 Also, the ADC flag-bearer, Ambassador Dare Bejide, lost his polling unit and ward to Governor Oyebanji.
Bejide, who hails from Ward 2 in Ekiti South-West Local Government Area, shares the area with IT expert and politician Makinde Araoye.
Results from Polling Unit 004, Ward 2 showed Oyebanji polling 140 votes, while Bejide scored 37 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recorded 2 votes.
The outcome gave the APC an early advantage as collation of results continued across the state.
