VeryDarkMan Invited By EFCC For Financial Sponsorship Query

Controversial social media critic and human rights activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited him for questioning.

This legal development was triggered by a formal petition submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by legal practitioner and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Dr. Blessing Agbomhere , writing on behalf of his law firm, Blessing Agbomhere & Partners. In the detailed grievance, Agbomhere urged the anti-graft agency to initiate a comprehensive, forensic investigation into the financial activities, public fundraising, and hidden sponsorship arrangements of the social media critic. The petitioner raised potential national security concerns over the frequent scale of public advocacy campaigns, media engagements, and protests, demanding absolute clarity regarding whether local or foreign interests are illicitly funding the activist to ensure full compliance with statutory anti-money laundering and tax obligation laws.

Ultimately, the complaint demands a holistic probe into the financial activities, sponsorship channels, and funding sources of both VeryDarkMan and prominent human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju. Reacting to the development on his social media page, VeryDarkMan vehemently dismissed the investigation as a calculated, politically motivated attempt to silence dissenting voices in Nigeria. He further alleged that members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are weaponising regulatory and legal frameworks to suppress public criticism and distract from the current administration’s leadership shortcomings.
