Alleged Graft: MASSOB Backs Kalu, Abaribe; Demands Immediate Sack Of SEDC Leadership
The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has strongly condemned the current leadership of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), headed by Mr. Mark Okoye. In a statement issued by its leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, the group labeled the administration a blatant disgrace and an ignominy to the Igbo nation. MASSOB firmly declared that the current management has failed to discharge its duties to the people of the region.
The group reminded the public that the core mandate of the commission, as outlined in the Southeast Development Commission Establishment Act 2024, is to rebuild the region. Specifically, it was established to reconstruct and rehabilitate roads, houses, and other infrastructure damaged during the civil war waged against the people of Biafra.
However, MASSOB alleged that the commission is currently run by inexperienced individuals who have intentionally abandoned these responsibilities. They accused the leadership of consciously failing Ndigbo by neglecting the vital rehabilitation and developmental tasks they were appointed to oversee.
