ISWAP Terrorists Set Primary, Secondary Schools In Chibok Ablaze

Suspected members of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have reportedly unleashed fresh terror attack in Borno State following burning of primary and day secondary schools in Kautikari village of the Chibok local government area.

Sources disclosed that t1he incident erupted at about 7pm on Saturday, forcing many residents to flee out of the community into the bush for safety.

Security personnel who hail from Kautikari but are based in Maiduguri confirmed the fresh attack, saying that the details of casualties are yet to be ascertained.

“Yes, I can confirm to you that our village (Kautikari) in the Chibok local government area is under Boko Haram attack.

“Our people are scampering for safety, even as two schools (primary and day secondary school) are under fire,” he said.

It is understood that the village has recorded a series of deadly Boko Haram attacks in recent times.

All efforts to get confirmation from the police public relations officer, ASP Keneth Daso, proved abortive at press time.

This fresh onslaught comes barely 24 hours after the state government reintegrated a total of 720 repentant terrorists, 992 spouses, and 2,050 children after they were deradicalised, disarmed, and rehabilitated at the Hajj Camp in Maiduguri and acquired various skill acquisition programmes.
