Tinubu Working Day And Night To Rescue Pupils, Others In Captivity, Says VP Shettima
Vice President Kashim Shettima has affirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to restoring peace and security across the country.
This was just as he claimed that the president is particularly determined to secure the release of abducted schoolchildren held by bandits and terrorist groups in Oyo and Borno States.
Speaking after a special Jumaat prayer for Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebrations, Shettima urged Nigerians to pray for the country’s peace, stability, and progress, while also recognizing the sacrifices made by past leaders in sustaining democratic governance.
According to the Vice President, national unity and collective support remain important in addressing the country’s security challenges.
“Our message to Nigerians is simple. Let’s pray for the peace and stability of this nation and to acknowledge the sacrifices made by our past heroes for the enthronement of this democracy that we are all enjoying now. And let’s pray for the peace, stability, and progress of this great nation.”
Shettima said the federal government is focused on improving security and ensuring the safe return of children currently in captivity.
“I want to assure Nigerians of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment towards restoring peace and stability in the nation. He is working day and night to ensure the safe recovery of all our children who are in the hands of the bandits and the terrorists,” Shettima stated.
The Vice President expressed optimism that the country would overcome its present security challenges, urging citizens not to lose hope.
“No matter how long the night is, it must give way to the light of the dawn. Stormy the weather might well be, but it won’t rain forever. The government remains irrevocably committed to restoring peace and stability of the nation. I want to thank Nigerians, and I want to ask them to pray for the nation, to pray for each other because what binds us together surpasses devides.”
Shettima reiterated the administration’s commitment to strengthening peace and stability across the country, while encouraging Nigerians to remain united and continue supporting efforts aimed at addressing insecurity.
