London Political Summit Awards (LPSA) Congratulate Prof Steve Azaiki OON

London Political Summit Awards (LPSA) proudly congratulates and celebrates our distinguished Advisory Board Member, Prof. Steve Azaiki, OON, on his well-deserved recognition and appointment as Director of the Centre for Polish and African Affairs (CPAA) at the University of Communication and Management (WSKiZ), Poznań, Poland.

This prestigious international appointment stands as a testament to Prof. Azaiki’s remarkable academic achievements, visionary leadership, and enduring contributions to governance, policy development, education, and international cooperation.

Approved by the University’s highest governing authority, the appointment took effect from May 4, 2026, for an initial term of two years, renewable thereafter. In conveying the appointment, the Rector of WSKiZ, Prof. Jerzy Olszewski, expressed confidence in Prof. Azaiki’s exemplary leadership and academic stewardship, noting that the institution expects his leadership to further strengthen the reputation and global impact of the Centre.

The Centre for Polish and African Affairs (CPAA) is a specialised research and policy institution committed to promoting stronger relations between Poland and African nations through education, research, business collaboration, policy innovation, and cultural exchange. The Centre has attracted postgraduate students, scholars, and academics from across Africa, Poland, and the wider international community, while facilitating landmark initiatives including the Polish-Nigerian Trade and Investment Forum and the establishment of the Polish-Nigerian Parliamentary Group in the Polish Parliament.

Under Prof. Azaiki’s leadership, the Centre is expected to deepen research partnerships with Nigerian and African universities, advance policy frameworks supporting bilateral cooperation and trade, and expand scholarship and fellowship opportunities for African postgraduate students.

Prof. Steve Azaiki, a Nigerian scholar, accomplished author, former federal lawmaker, and respected public servant, possesses distinguished academic credentials, including doctorates in Agriculture and Public Administration. His extensive body of work has significantly shaped discourse on agriculture, oil and gas governance, federalism, public administration, and African development.

Beyond academia, Prof. Azaiki has maintained an outstanding public service record, having served as the pioneer Commissioner for Agriculture in Bayelsa State, two-term Secretary to the State Government, and Member of the House of Representatives representing Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma Federal Constituency (2019–2023). He is also the founder of the Azaiki Public Library and Museum and Co-Chairman of the National Think Tank Initiative.
