Ohaukwu North: The Truth Omekannaya Odah And Others Are Hiding From Nwifuru And Ebonyi People. 

I read with bated breath the compendium of heartbreaking lies published once more by Barr Omekannaya Clem Odah, the war-monger whose greatest memorabilia as Ohaukwu council chairman was that he turned the two largest zones of Ohaukwu LGA into human abbatoirs. It is obvious that Odah's fallacious epistle was a hatchet job he undertook in his quest to get even with Hon. Awo Chinedu, a young man who stood up against Odah's apartheid policies against the Ezza people of old Effium. Odah resents the success of Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru's peace programme for old Effium and so, intends to deceive the governor with war tales even at the dawn of peace.

THE HISTORY OF ARMED VIOLENCE IN OHAUKWU: It is public knowledge that shortly after he assumed office, security agencies nabbed Odah with a hilux fully-loaded with arms and ammunition. Thereafter, many Ngbo Communities became theatres of cult clashes which claimed many lives under Odah's watch. It was after Odah's infamous reign that Ngbo stakeholders led by the deputy speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, whom Odah had slapped inside the hallowed chambers of the Ebonyi State Legislative chambers, dislodged Odah's army of cultists and invited Ngbo Christian Union to spiritually cleanse Ngboejogu land of innocent blood!

ODAH'S APARTHEID POLICY THE IN OLD EFFIUM: It was also under the violent reign of Odah that Effium community became an apartheid enclave where the Orring militia created by Odah would not allow an Ezza man step into the Effium Forest Reserve or pick biomass therefrom. Late Ndubuisi Alexander Nwali, an Ezza man, was shot in 2017 by Odah's militia for the crime (?) of venturing into Effium forest.

EFFIUM PARK LEADERSHIP STRUGGLE WAS ODAH'S PLOY: It is ludicrous that in Barr Odah's vengeful delusion, he forgot that the leadership of the old Effium Motor Park was single-handedly constituted by him. Both the chairman of the park, Godwin Nwankwo (Nkwo Motors), and the secretary, Paul Elom, were Odah's hardcore vassals. Throughout Odah's reign of terror, Hon. Chinedu Awo or any other person did not interfere with the revenues of the market as all the revenue contracts of Effium market, including the motor park levies, were awarded by Odah to his companies, Mater Dei Nig Ltd and Clement-Petrus Nig Ltd. The fight in the park were caused by Odah who manipulated the chairmanship and secretary of the park through frequent office swaps which were not often documented or properly communicated to all necessary parties who constitute Odah's kitchen cabinet. Besides the park story, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha who was commissioner for internal security will not forget Odah's violent pranks over the Ezza Effium Youth leadership. On Chief Emegha's prodding, I intervened to put the truth before Ebonyi State Government; and Chief Emegha stopped Odah.

GENESIS OF THE OMEKANNAYA ODAH WAR IN OLD EFFIUM: After the affray generated from Odah's manipulations of Effium park leadership, the two park officials involved in the fight, Godwin Nwankwo (Effium Park Chairman) and Paul Elom (Effium Park Secretary) were arrested by the police and taken to Effium Police Division. Odah should tell the general public from where his boys led by Ogbu Agena, Alexander Akpa(Dadoos), Odinaka Idu, Chukwudi Okefi (Malaika), Osondu Okefi, Chinedu Ilor and others mobilized the AK-47 rifles with which they invaded Effium Police Division, sacked the police men on duty, freed Paul Elom and beat Godwin Nwankwo into pulp and commenced unrestrained assault on Effium Indigenes of Ezza Ezekuna extraction on 22nd January, 2021! Were the arms from the armoury assembled with the aid of the tinted sealed Tundra pick up vans (one of which was intercepted by security agencies) by Odah? Recall that both Ogbu Agena and Alexander Akpa (Dadoos) were Omekannaya Odah's nominees into the Technical Assistant corps of Umahi's administration.

It may interest Governor Francis Nwifuru and the world at large to note that on that morning of January 22, 2021, when hell was let loose on old Effium by Clement Odah, Hon. Chinedu Awo, myself and others were locked in a strategic meeting in Awo's Abakaliki residence to review how to solve the criminal interference of Omekannaya Odah in the National Population Commission's Enumeration Area Demarcation Exercise in our wards. Complaints of that interference had earlier been made to the then Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Umahi; the then Federal Commissioner representing Ebonyi State in NPC, Hon. Darlington Okereke; Ebonyi State Police Command and the DSS. It was in that meeting that we received the alarm of the violence unleashed by Odah's apartheid militia on Effium indigenes of Ezza Ezekuna extraction.

Evidently, it was Odah's crazy drive for conquest that made him unleash his well-stocked armoury on old Effium indigenes of Ezza Ezekuna extraction. The phantom park leadership struggle was a creation of Omekannaya Odah to trigger war to enable him prosecute his bid to annihilate the Ezza section of old Effium. The war that lasted for 5 years in the old Effium was purely Omekannaya Odah's war; and that negative legacy will stand in his name till judgement day!

CELEBRATION OF PEACE AND THE QUESTION OF ATTENDANCE OF UFFIOM LEADERS: Odah who lives in Northern Nigeria openly resents Governor Francis Nwifuru's peace programme for old Effium. He has continued to live in self-denial of the return of peace in Effium. A popular Izzi audio-visual journalist, Dauglas Nwankwo, covered and reported the celebrations of Effium peace and recorded both Uffiom and Alioma/Ezekuna leaders on media platforms. When Odah saw the reports, he forced the traditional ruler of Effium community, HRH Eze Sunday Aliba, to suspend and sanction the secretary of Effium traditional ruler's cabinet and the secretary-general of Effium Town Union, Chief Amos Akpa; a management committee member in Effium DC, Hon. Emeka Onwe; the former Secretary of Effium traditional ruler's cabinet, Chief Sunday Echem; a community leader and lecturer, Chief Emmanuel Olor; the coordinator of FON Youth Movement in Wigbeke Ward 1, Comrade Nwonu and other Uffiom stakeholders for their involvement in the celebration of the return of peace to the entire old Effium, open appreciation of Hon. Chinedu Awo's role in the return of Effium peace and for making open appeal to Governor Nwifuru for Awo's return to Ebonyi State legislature. When Ebonyi State Government investigated the report a forthnight ago, the traditional ruler of Effium community, HRH Eze Sunday Aliba, had to put up public announcements on radio reinstating the affected Effium community stakeholders and vacating the sanctions. Yet, Odah, the ostrich of Effium community, mischeviously asked in paragraph 12 of his mischievous epistle: Which leaders of Effium attended the thanksgiving?

MRS ESTHER AGWU IS A "SECOND TERM" LEGISLATOR: At this point, it is important to clarify the governor of Ebonyi State and the rest of Ebonyi people that Mrs Esther Agwu in whose favour Omekannaya Odah has lied is a second term member of Ebonyi State House of Assembly. Below are the irrebuttable facts. Created in 1999, Ohaukwu North State Constituency is made up of 3 family units: Alioma/Ezekuna or Ezza, Uffiom and Ngbo.

Hon. Bernard Uzim from Alioma represented Ohaukwu North for two sessions (1999 - 2007). Thereafter, Hon. Vincent Awoke from Okposhi ward 1 in Ngbo served for a term (2007 - 2011). Hon. Frank Onwe of Uffiom succeeded Awoke and served for two tenures (2011 - 2019). After Onwe, Hon. Chinedu Awo was elected from Wigbeke Ward 2 and he served for one term (2019 - 2023).

Due the Omekannaya Odah war in old Effium which lingered beyond 2023, Ebonyi State Government decided to step down Hon. Chinedu Awo's second term bid to enable him and other stakeholders concentrate and work on Ebonyi State Government Peace Programme for old Effium Community. Hon. Awo was asked to nominate a successor from Ngbo. Awo nominated Mrs Esther Agwu from Okposhi Ward 1 to come and serve "the second term" due to Okposhi Ward 1.

Her bid for another (third) tenure will bring confusion and disrupt the establish rotation formula among the three units of Ohaukwu North constituency! It is the turn of Wigbeke Ward 2 to do "second term". People from Effium Ward 2 (Alioma), Effium Ward 1, and Okposhi Ward 1 where Mrs Esther Agwu comes from have done two tenures each; they (including Hon. Esther Agwu) lack the moral justifications to aspire for the seat in 2027. This submission cannot be reasonably and morally controverted!
