Triple Triumph: Prince Abubakar Idowu Momodu Bids Farewell to FRSC, Unveils 3 Books
Prince Abubakar Idowu Momodu, a member of the royal Oba Momodu lineage from Agbede in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, joined the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in 1996. Following his university education, he underwent a conversion course in 2007, which elevated him to the rank of Deputy Route Commander (DRC). His career in the FRSC began with his first posting to the Taraba Sector Command in Jalingo, where he served as a Duty Room Clark. He was subsequently posted to Borno Sector Command in Maiduguri, serving as a Liaison Officer and Katsina-Ala in Benue State, where he took on the role of Admin Officer.
In 2010, Prince Abubakar Idowu Momodu was posted to the Isanlu Unit Command in Kogi State. He received a promotion to the rank of Route Commander (RC) in 2013. The following year, he was transferred to the FRSC National Headquarters, where he served as a Staff Officer (SO) Admin in the Technical Support Services Department (TSSD), specifically in the Special Duties and Emergency Response (SDER) unit.
His career progression saw him being promoted to the rank of Senior Route Commander (SRC) in 2018. He was subsequently posted to Moniya Unit Command as an Intervention Admin Officer. Following the disbandment of that command in 2019, he was later promoted to the rank of Chief Route Commander (CRC) in 2021. He was then posted to Iganna Unit Command, where he served as the Head of Operations until his retirement in August 2025.
During his active service, Prince Abubakar Idowu Momodu was an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular passion for football. After retiring from active football, he transitioned to lawn tennis, where he achieved notable success. His accolades include winning the 21 Armoured Brigade Tennis Championship and claiming a bronze medal in the Corps Marshal Sports Championship.
Prince Abubakar Idowu Momodu, a dedicated writer, has authored three notable books. To commemorate his remarkable and unblemished service, friends, colleagues, associates, and members of the Momodu royal family gathered to celebrate this significant milestone. The festivities included a post-retirement party in his honor, held on August 16, 2025, at the Civil Service Institute in Abuja. The celebration also featured the launch of his three new books, marking a fitting tribute to his achievements.
In the opening remarks of the Chairman, he poured encomium on the celebrant and praising him as a true patriot and good representative of the community he comes from that are known for their hard work , honesty and integrity. He enjoined all sons and daughters to emulate the celebrant. He prayed for the continuous God's protection, guidance,and good health for AI Momodu
The representative of the Corps Marshall presented a message the good will from the CM. The Corps is not only recognizing the unblemished record of service of the celebrant, he,also appreciated and recognized the mile stone efforts in writing three books that will serve as encouraging education and enlightenment of the public. He also prayed for his good health and wished him well in future endeavors
The three bestseller books authored by Prince Abubakar Momodu, a prolific writer and astute literary critic, include:
