Crescent Varsity Mourns Passage Of Alumnus Monarch, Agura Of Gbagura

Authorities of Crescent University Abeokuta have received with rude shock the passage of its alumnus, His Royal Majesty , Oba Saburee Babajide Bakre, the Agura of Gbagura kingdom, Jamolu II.

Prince Adesegun Ajibola SAN, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Governing Council, management, staff and students described the passing of the monarch as a huge loss not only to Agura kingdom but also Crescent University and the entire nation.

This is contained in a press release by the Senior Assistant Registrar (Public Relations) Mr Idris Katib.

Prince Adesegun Ajibola lauded the late first class monarch saying that "Kaabiyesi Agura was conferred with our Doctor of Science (DSc) Honoris Causa Business Administration in 2021, in recognition of his numerous contributions to community service and humanity.

"He was our distinguished alumnus who gave a lot of support to our university" Ajibola has said.

In a related message, the Vice Chancellor , Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila described Oba Saburee Babajide Bakre as " consumate professional and community leader.

"He was s a great friend of Crescent University staff,students and management. He will be sorely missed. May Allah grant him Aljana fridaus", Prof. Gbajabiamila concluded.
