APC Reacts As Dogara, Other Aggrieved Northern Members Declare Support For Atiku

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council said the party is not disturbed by the adoption of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as preferred presidential candidate for the 2023 polls by its aggrieved members including former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

The party wished its aggrieved members all the best for their choice regarding next Nigeria's President.

The former Speaker and other Northern Christian leaders in his camp who rejected the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC revealed their readiness to support Atiku for the 2023 presidential election.

The leaders under the aegis of the Northern Leaders Consultative Forum assured of their support for the PDP flag-bearer.

The Nigerian Voice had earlier reported that the adoption followed by the presentation of a report by its technical criteria committee, presented by former Kogi State Deputy Governor Simon Achuba

In reaction to the development, the spokesman of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign team, Festus Keyamo, said Dogara and his allies were not with the APC when the party won in 2019.

He said nothing has changed as the party chieftains only returned to their former camp.

“My very good and amiable friend and classmate Yakubu Dogara should have spared us all the drama. From PDP and back to PDP.

“Nothing has changed; no alteration of political permutations. They were not with us in 2019 when we won. Wishing them all the best, except victory in 2023”, Keyamo wrote his Twitter page.
