Massive Crowd As Abiodun Oyebanji Takes Oath Of Office As New Ekiti State Governor
Mr Abiodun Oyebanji has been sworn in as the new Governor of Ekiti State amidst cheers from the mammoth crowd at the event.
He was sworn in by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Hon. Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, at exactly 12:53 pm.
The inauguration took place at the Ekiti Parapo Pavillion, New Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Sunday.
Clad in white agbada with a cream cap to match, the newly inaugurated governor pledged to preserve, protect and defend as well as preserve his office.
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, governors on the APC platform, former Ekiti governor, Ayo Fayose and other dignitaries attended the event.
The Nigerian Voice understands that Oyebanji, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared winner of the Ekiti governorship election with 187,057 votes, defeating his two closest challengers — Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) who polled 82,211 votes, and Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 67,457 votes.
