Gov. Oyetola Drags Osun Governor-elect, Adeleke, To Court Over Certificate Forgery, Others

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State has instituted a petition at the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal, asking the court to nullify the election of the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke.

The governor who said the election was fraught with certain irregularities, said Adeleke submitted forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commision and should be disqualified to contest in the election.

Recall that Senator Ademola Adeleke was declared winner of the July 16 governorship election in the state, having defeated Oyetola, and 13 other candidates with a total of 403, 371 votes.

Meanwhile, Oyetola polled 375, 027 votes and won in 13 Local Government Areas of the state to come second in the election.

It was reliably learnt that the incumbent governor has assembled 50 lawyers including 10 Senior Advocates of Nigeria, and also listed 13 grounds on which premises Adeleke should be disqualified.
