January 16: You Have Been Sent by God!

“And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?” Judges 6:14 (KJV). We do not have to be told that God does nothing for doing sake. When He made man, He knew exactly why He did so. His reason for making man is clear in His mandate to man. He wanted to make man, not in the image of anything else He made, but in His own image because the purpose for mankind would be unique and distinct from the purpose for all other creatures. Man would have the earth as his domain, and he would rule and prosper the earth when he allows the power (Spirit) of God to guide him. (see Genesis 1:26 KJV). In fact, God made the earth (the universe) and everything in it to serve man. All that man had to do was to manage all the resources put in his control.

From this introduction, therefore, we all understand why we are here. We’re not here just to eat, drink and be merry and then die like a cow in the stall or like a sheep in the pen. We’re here for a reason that has become our purpose. We’re a gift to the earth and a blessing to our generations. Knowing that you have been sent by God to change your world is the beginning of your victory in fulfilling His divine purpose for your life.

When Gideon began to trust God and following His leading, he was able to lead Israel to overcome the Midianites and enjoyed peace in his reign as a judge. Beloved, it is important for you to be born again and that will help you to surrender your life totally to your Creator to use you the way He purposed for you. Then, you’ll know that you have been sent by God to bring about change wherever you are. You are the light that should light up the darkness around you, in your family, job, community, and nation. Don’t be comfortable when evil is being perpetrated in your presence; let people know that you only stand for what is good and right.

Never fear to display or exhibit your godly attributes to bring about the needed change that is necessary in your environment. You may suffer for doing good, but that is your calling as a saint [Christian], and God will reward you and keep using you to bless lives. “But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;” (1 Peter 3:14; See also Matthew 5: 11-12). Note: The best way to enjoy your life and be fulfilled is to discover your purpose for life and why you’re here on earth. God will turn it into your vision. Vision will spice up your life so much and the Hallelujah! Will not come from you alone but from all the lives you’ll touch. God bless you and make you to be an Over comer for His name’s sake!

Let’s pray: Father, thank You for helping me to understand the reason you made me and why I’m here. Lord complete me with the Holy Ghost that He’ll help me, the same way He did for the apostles, so that I will begin today to work with You, like Gideon did, and glorify Your holy name, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
