Court remands tailor over alleged murder of vulcanizer

A Magistrate Court in Osogbo, Osun State presided over by Magistrate Adenike Olowolagba has ordered that a 34-year old tailor, Saheed Adekunle be remanded at Ilesa Prison Custody for killing one vulcanizer, Sunday Oderinde.

Police prosecutor, Duro Adekunle told the court that the accused person committed the crime on the 8th of March, 2017 at Sabo area, Osogbo.

He explained that the accused person killed the deceased by hitting his head with a stone and then strangling his neck.

He added that the offence committed by the accused person is contrary to Section 316(1) and punishable under Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, volume II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

The plea of the accused person was not taken.
In her ruling, Magistrate Adenike Olowolagba ordered that the accused person be remanded at Ilesa Prison Custody and adjourned the case till the 15th of May, 2017.
