Ughelli Police Battles Cult Members, Checkmate Crime Waves

WARRI, DELTA, May 19, (THEWILL) - A riot Act has been read to all secret cults members operating in Ughelli North Local Government Area by the Nigeria Police Divisional Headquarters, ‘A’ Division, Ughelli, as part of efforts to make the area conducive and attract meaningful development to the area and its environs.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Chris Sorgbara, told THEWILL that nefarious activities of secret cults had become embarrassing to Ughelli residents, adding that the trend is threatening security of the council and business activities.


While assuring the people of the area of safety of their lives and properties, he said the Police is currently combing all the nooks and crannies and to arrest suspected secret cult members that are terrorizing the Local Government and environs.

He said some arrests have been made and assured the residents of adequate security of their lives and property, stressing that the suspected secret cult members would soon be charged to court and eventually prosecuted to act as deterrent to others.
