Ahead of Saturday Re-run Election In Rivers - Another Plot To Cause Mayhem In Ogoni Uncovered

…As Group Fingers Magnus Abe, Barry Mpigi, Marvin Yobana, Friday Nke-eeh

The Ogoni Ethnic Nationality (OEN) has raised alarm over a plot by key members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of Ogoni extraction to unleash mayhem in Ogoniland during the Saturday Re-run Election.

A statement signed by the National Coordinator of OEN, Elder Batombari Ledogho said Ogoniland had been infested with arms and ammunitions with AK 47 rifles distributed to youths in Ogoni.

The statement which was made available to newsmen on Friday said the group had it on good authority that the Senatorial candidate of the APC for Rivers South East, Mr. Magnus Abe; the candidate of APC for Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo Federal Constituency, Mr. Barry Mpigi; Mr. Marvin Yobana and Mr. Friday Nke-eeh were behind the distribution of the arms.

It added that APC leaders had concluded plans to invade Ogoniland with the armed thugs so as to cause crisis in Ogoniland that would threaten the Saturday Election and hijack the result sheet, take it to unknown destinations and write the results in favour of the APC.

The Ogoni Ethnic Nationality said it had become necessary to raise the alarm, warning that in the event of any crisis in Ogoniland, Magnus Abe and all those mentioned above should be held responsible.

Similarly, the group has also received report of some APC agents meeting secretly with selected INEC adhoc staff expected to conduct elections in the Ogoni area on Saturday. They include Supervisors, Presiding Officers and polling clerks. Huge amount of money has been earmarked for disbursement to these personnel to do the bidding of the APC.

Calling for immediate and urgent action by security agencies, the Ogoni Ethnic Nationality re-emphasized that no blood of a single Ogoni man or woman is worth spilling to satisfy the personal ambitions of the APC candidates in Ogoniland.

Signed:
Elder Batombari Ledogho
