“Entrepreneurs’ Play a Fundamental Role in Economic Development” – Hajiya Yar’adua 

One of Niger’s finest Women Achievers, a Woman of refinement, elegant, yet, very humble. The tireless Niger State Hon. Commissioner of Investment, Commerce and Industry, Hajiya Ramatu Mohammed Yar’adua has said that, entrepreneurs’ play a fundamental role in economic development as they are key contributors to innovation and job creation.

Hajiya Yar’adua made her proclamation during the GLOBAL ENTREPRENURSHIP WEEK held at Haske Hotels, Minna, Niger State Capital.

Yar’adua said that, entrepreneurs contribute socially to their host communities by providing jobs, conducting business locally, creating and participating in entrepreneurial networks, investing in community projects and giving to local charities.

Quoting her “it is a pleasure to be here with you today to speak at this maiden edition of the Global Entrepreneurship GLOBAL ENTREPRENURSHIP WEEK tagged “Entrepreneurship – A Key Driver of Local Growth and Innovation” she stressed.

She noted that, it is evident that the current economic challenges facing many countries including Nigeria has brought to the fore the discussion about the importance of entrepreneurship in fostering economic development.

Yar’adua said “I have chosen to focus my remarks on an area of entrepreneurship that has a clear competitive advantage and high growth potential which is “innovation driven entrepreneurship”.

She appreciated and lauded the organizers of the event for creating a forum to re-emphasis the need to give adequate attention to entrepreneurship development in Niger State especially as we continue “our struggle to overcome the tide of economic recession while re-irritating the Governor Abubakar Sani Bello’s desire and commitment to improve the lives of Nigelites despite the present epileptic economic situation.

Enjoining the organizers not to allow the event to end on paper work, she said “Many events of this kind have been organized by various groups but have ended as talk shows. For this reason, I strongly enjoin all stakeholders to take practical steps to implement the solutions highlighted today for the betterment of our State and Nigeria at large.”

Finally, the Commissioner advised the organizers of the event to articulate all solutions and draw up an implementation strategy for adoption for the benefit of Nigerlites, Nigerians and Humanity.
