We Need Value Addition To Achieve Our Goal—Gen. L E O Irabor

The Theatre Commander of Operation Lafia Dole, Major General Lucky Irabor has reiterated that value addition is what is required of all stakeholders in the theatre of war against insurgency to achieve the desired objective of peace to return to the North East which has been devasted by boko haram.

Speaking during a courtesy visit on the Correspondent's Chapel of the NUJ at their office in Maiduguri, he said,"the press is a very critical stakeholder in the war on terror and we appreciate your role very much, however value addition

is what we require from all to achieve our goal."

The press has been giving the command fair and object reportage but you should also know that you too are serving your community and the country at large.

"When we do our duty please report it but dont fail to call us to order when we are not doing right", he said. The Military has been Constitutionally empowered to to carry weapons of violence to manage violence but not to perpetrate violence"

In your reporting please always ask yourself, "how have you contributed in your role in bringing peace?" he said and cautioned the journalists to always do that which will bring greater good to all.
