Tulsi Chanrai Foundation: Strengthening Health Care System In Nigeria
Tulsi Chanrai Foundation (TCF) is a philanthropical Non-Governmental organization with the Vision to make access to primary health care, safe drinking water and eye care to remote and disadvantaged Nigerian population.
The Foundation started operation in 1992 in a small beginning has now grown to international level benefitting 2 Million disadvantaged children and Adults in Nigeria.
CEO of the Foundation, Col. Prasad also revealed that the foundation has restored the vision of over 100,000 people; 1.5 million mother’s and children's wellbeing is being secured and 1.9 million people ensured safe water. In Partnership with Government agencies and other like minded organisations TCF aims to make high quality sustainable and replicable models in primary health care, provision of safe drinking water and eye care in Nigeria.
While on facts findings, our reporter visited one of TFC Hospital in Ngorore Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa state and interview the Program Manager, Dr Devendra Sonawane where he revealed that the "Tulsi Chanrai Foundation (TCF) was set up by the Chanrai Family. The family has been engaged in manufacture and trade and has multiple commercial ventures in Nigeria. The Family is discharging their duty to the Nation through its philanthropic wing, Tulsi Chanrai Foundation in Nigeria. The Foundation provides much needed health care and safe drinking water to the rural poor across all geo-political zones.
"Is part of our cooperate social responsibilities and services to the good people of Nigeria, its our own way of saying thank you for the long lasting relationship between the Nigeria and the founder of TCF Mr J. M. Chanrai". He said
Devendra continue to say that their services are free for pregnant woman, lactating mothers, Infants, and undernourished childrens. People living with HIV and AIDs, TB patients do receive the free care through the hospital.
He thank the Adamawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency and Local Authority of Yola South Local Government for being partners in progress, calling on people to come for their free medicals testing.
When going round the Hospital , I came across women and children on admission and confirm to me TCF is the best Hospital they have around.
Sa'adatu Musa who left Namtari village in Yola to Ngurore which is close to the state capital and suffering from heart related sickness expressed her satisfaction on the way they are taken good care of her with free medicals charges.
"This place is the best for me, the white men are so caring and always up and doing, in fact this Hospital have the most qualified staff with good medical equipments, taken care of us free and their medicines are almost free compare to other Hospitals in Jimeta". She said
Another lady who said her name is Grace Yusuf and was attacked by Typhoid and malaria thank the management of the Hospital for almost given her a free drugs compare to other Hospital in the area, expressing her Joy as she is now better
The Director Primary Health of Tulsi Chanrai Foundation, Dr Rajesh Kapse reinstated TCF commitments for strengthening quality primary health system of the country. He urge the Government, various NGOs to be partnering with the organization to have good health for all and sundry in the country.
