PDP Optimistic Of Mark's Re-election Because 'APC's Deceit Is Now Clear To All Nigerians'

BEVERLY HILLS, December 01 (THEWILL) – Following the annulment of the last Benue South Senatorial election by the Court of Appeal sitting in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has expressed optimism that the immediate past Senate President, Senator David Mark, will win the rerun election that was ordered.

This was as the party claimed that the people of Benue-South senatorial district are solidly behind Mark, who it described as an asset to the nation.

The party, in a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa metuh, asserted that it was sure that the people of Benue-South would give the affected Senator another resounding victory at the rerun election.

He pointed out that the confidence of the party of retaining the only senatorial seat it has in Benue state is even stronger now that the alleged deceit of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has become obvious to all Nigerians.

The PDP spokesman further claimed that the inexplicable ruling of the Appeal Court was another evidence of the APC's dangerous interference with the judiciary.

He, therefore, enjoined PDP supporters in Benue-South to resist any attempt to intimidate them, “especially in their determination to ensure an effective and result-oriented representation in the Senate.”
