Buhari names himself Minister of Petroleum, assigns portfolios to others + full list

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday named himself the Minister of Petroleum Resources.

Buhari is to be assisted by Dr. Ibe Kachikwu as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources.

The President also assigned portfolios to other ministerial nominees at a ceremony at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

There had been controversy over Buhari emerging as the Minister of Petroleum Resources.

Some had argued that for him to emerge a minister, he must subject himself to screening and confirmation by the Senate like other nominees.
