Amaechi, Others Cleared As Ministers, PDP Senators Stage Walkout

SAN FRANCISCO, October 29, (THEWILL) – The Senate Thursdays confirmed former Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi and other ministerial nominees forwarded to it for approval as ministers of the federal republic of Nigeria.

THEWILL notes that Amaechi's confirmation was contentious as senators elected on the platform of the PDP who strongly opposed his confirmation, staged a walkout before his confirmation was done. Senator Ike Ekweremadu (PDP) did not walkout with his colleagues because he is also the Deputy President of the Senate.
