7 Killed, 17 Injured As Teenage Female Bombers Rock Borno Village
SAN FRANCISCO, October 16, (THEWILL) – Less than 12 hours after a suicide bomber rocked a mosque situated beside a mini market in Molai, a village located about 15 kilometres from Maiduguri along Damboa road in Borno State, multiple explosions rocked Umarari village near Molai, the village that was bombed Thursday evening.
A local resident, Idris Mohammed , said three teenage female suicide bombers rocked the village between 5am and 5:20am Friday morning, detonating bombs strapped on them as they enter some houses.
No fewer than seven persons, including the three teenage suicide bombers were said to have died in the attack just as 20 other persons injured in the early morning attack were taken to the hospital in Maiduguri.
Spokesman of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the Northeast, AbdulKadir Ibrahim, while confirming the incident, said: “At Umarari Bayan Waya, at around 5am today, 16th October 2015 there was an attack. The suicide attack were carried out by three female suicide bombers.”
The NEMA chief who also confirmed that seven persons, including the bombers, were killed while 17 others were injured, said “they have been taken to Borno State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri.”
