Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the recent unrest in Burundi

TOKYO, Japan, May 18, 2015/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- 1. Japan is concerned by a series of violent acts taking place in Burundi, causing heavy casualties as well as numerous refugees pouring into neighboring countries.

2. Japan calls upon all the relevant parties to exercise maximum restraint and make every effort toward the earliest possible peaceful resolution.
